David Crowley Graduation: Success in the Face of Failure

County Executive David Crowley was just a junior in high school when he was inspired to make a difference. It was Reggie and Sharlen Moore with Milwaukee’s Urban Underground who helped him see his potential to become a community leader and make long-needed changes in Milwaukee. UWM Protests To Continue This Semester After Suspensions Lifted

MILWAUKEE, Wi – Robert Johnson, a 16-year-old wearing a state-issued correctional uniform accompanied by chains on his wrists and ankles, was escorted out by police after his sentencing trial two Fridays ago. As he walked away, he turned, facing his family and friends, and broke down sobbing, his family crying out they loved him. Johnson will be 29 when he is again free.

Encampment Set Up Monday On UW-Milwaukee Campus

Updated UWM Gen Ed. Requirements Expected For Fall 2026

MILWAUKEE, WI – UWM is continuing with its plan to update general education requirements, likely to take effect in the Fall of 2026.

The current proposal of changes is being led by the Vice Provost for Student Success, Dave Clark. The changes would reduce general education credits from the current 21 hours down to 18, provide full portability of Gen Ed. courses between majors and lay out new assessments and requirements for Gen Ed. courses.
